Always wanted to know everything about CBD ?

What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is one of over 113 naturally occurring cannabinoid compounds in the cannabis plant. The flowers of cannabis (both hemp and marijuana) secrete a sticky resin that is rich in cannabinoids such as CBD, as well as terpenes and various other phytochemicals. Compared to THC - the other major cannabinoid in the cannabis plant - CBD is not psychoactive. This means that no matter how much you take, marijuana will not produce its signature high.

HOW DOES CBD WORK?

CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system - a complex network of receptors and neurotransmitters that are distributed throughout the body. This system has the task of regulating the balance of various organ systems. The greatest abundance of these receptors is in the brain, central nervous system, and immune system. Almost every organ in your body, including the skin and digestive tract, has cannabinoid receptors.

Why use it?

Cannabidiol (CBD) has been studied for its potential role in treating many common health problems, including anxiety, depression, acne, and heart disease. For cancer patients, it can even be a natural alternative for pain and symptom relief.

When does CBD oil work after ingestion?

CBD oil must be taken regularly so that the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) is adequately supplied with exogenous cannabinoids such as cannabidiol (CBD) and an effect can occur. Most people feel the effects after 3 to 10 days of regular use (morning and evening).

How do I take the CBD drops correctly?

Soak up a small amount of oil from the vial with the pipette and then drop the desired number of drops under the tongue. The oil should stay there for between 5 and 10 seconds before swallowing it.

Why is the CBD oil dripped under the tongue?

Under the tongue is the lingual artery, which arises from the external carotid artery and supplies the tongue with blood. The oil is absorbed and gets into the bloodstream quickly and efficiently.

What are the differences between CBD and THC?

The consumption of CBD does not induce a “high”. Although CBD and THC have almost the same molecular formula and mass, the compounds react completely differently, which means that they differ greatly in their effects. THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana, causes the so-called “high” (sativa) or “stoned” (indica), depending on the type of marijuana consumed, while CBD fights against the effects of THC and at the same time inhibits inflammation and reduces feelings such as fear or stress.

Dosage

Proper dosage seems to be of great importance with CBD. However, it is not clear to everyone which dosage is just right.

The dosage differs depending on the person and the strength of the CBD product used. We always recommend starting slowly, building up gradually and listening carefully to your body.

A bottle of CBD oil often indicates a percentage, while we often speak of milligrams of CBD. You can easily calculate the number of milligrams in a drop of your oil by dividing the total number of milligrams of CBD by the number of drops in your bottle. A 30 ml bottle contains approximately 660 drops.

Percentage

Withered focus is best, very per person. The CBD oils available in our webshop vary in amount between 5% and 25% CBD. The approved percentage of cannabidiol (CBD) is based on the total oil, so a 5% jar of 30 ml contains at least 500 mg of CBD.

Often more concentration is required. Isodiol oil with 12.5% CBD is by far our most popular product and is even available in a concentration of 25%.

Legality

The CBD legal situation looks like this, that cannabidiol does not fall under the Narcotics Act, making the purchase legal. Cannabidiol has been proven to have no psychoactive properties, which is why it basically differs immensely from cannabis in Germany in purely legal terms.

However, the European Union has strict guidelines for compliance with the THC content in a CBD product. The amount of THC must not exceed a maximum content of 0.2%. Another requirement is that the products must be made from certified EU industrial hemp varieties.

In addition, CBD is legal when it is offered in a pre-processed form. Regardless of the THC content, the legislature in Germany stipulates that only creams and oils may be bought. Unprocessed products such as CBD flowers, tea and cigarettes are therefore not allowed in Germany.

8 Proven Health Benefits Of CBD

Natural pain relief is an important health benefit of CBD. A 2012 study (Journal of Experimental Medicine) shows that CBD significantly reduced chronic inflammatory and neuropathic pain in rodents. Researchers believe that CBD and other non-psychoactive compounds in cannabis could be new therapies for treating chronic pain.

According to a Meta-analyse carried out in Canada in 2007, the combination of CBD and THC oral spray was shown to be effective in treating neuropathic pain in multiple sclerosis (MS).

Research shows that antipsychotic effects are other health benefits of CBD. In addition, studies show that CBD prevents psychosis and is effective in patients with schizophrenia.

Studies with anxious animals clearly show an anxiety-reducing effect due to the effects of CBD. Cannabidiol reduces anxiety in people with social anxiety, and researchers suggest it may also be effective for panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Several scientific reports show that CBD can inhibit the growth of cancer cells. A Study published in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics in 2006 concluded that CBD was effective in inhibiting the growth of multiple breast tumor cell lines.

CBD behaves like a non-toxic substance and Studies show that doses of 700 milligrams per day for 6 weeks did not show any obvious toxicity in humans, suggesting that it can be used for long-term treatment. Research shows not only that CBD can fight breast cancer cells, but it can also be used in the fight against lung and colon cancer. CBD also has anti-tumor properties in gliomas and is used to treat leukemia.

Cannabis has been used to suppress nausea and vomiting for centuries. Animal studies have shown that of the more than 80 cannabinoid compounds in cannabis, both the intoxicating THC and the non-intoxicating CBD help fight nausea and vomiting. A Study published in the British Journal of Pharmacology in 2012 found that CBD when administered to rats reduced nausea and vomiting.

A 2014 survey by Stanford University researchers introduced parents who are part of a specific Facebook group. This group looks at the use of cannabis to treat your child's seizures. Sixteen (84 percent) of 19 parents reported a decrease in their child's seizure frequency while using CBD-infused cannabis. Of these, two (11 percent) participants reported no more seizures, eight (42 percent) reported a reduction in the frequency of seizures by more than 80 percent, and six (32 percent) reported a reduction in seizures by 25 to 60 percent. Other beneficial effects include increased alertness, mood, and sleep, while side effects include drowsiness and fatigue.

In 2014, researchers reported preliminary results from a Study of children with epilepsy. The patients received a purified 98% oil-based CBD extract. After three months of treatment, 39 percent of the 23 patients had a reduction in seizures of more than 50%. These preliminary results support animal studies and research reports that CBD may be a promising treatment for epilepsy and is generally well tolerated at doses up to 25 milligrams per kilogram of body weight.

A 2006 Study found that CBD treatment significantly reduced the number of new cases of diabetes in non-obese mice. In 2013, the American Journal of Medicine published a study looking at the impact of cannabis use on glucose, insulin, and insulin resistance in American adults. The Study included 4,657 adult men and women from the National Health and Nutrition Survey between 2005 and 2010. Of the participants, 579 were recent cannabis users and 1,975 were former users. The researchers found that recent cannabis use was linked to 16 percent lower insulin levels.

A 2013 Study published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology reports that CBD protects against blood vessel damage caused by excessive glucose or inflammation.
